A best friend is someone who changes your life just by being a part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can’t stop. Someone who walks in when the rest walk out. Someone who knows what you’re saying when you don’t have to say a word. Someone you can look at a certain way and they know exactly what you’re thinking. Someone you find it hardest to say goodbye to. Someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway. Someone who helps you through thick and thin. The first person you go to when you need someone to talk to. someone you will call about nothing or the most important things in your life. They are the shoulder you cry on because you know they really care about you. Someone you would take a bullet for because it would be too painful to watch them get hurt. Someone that will risk your friendship with you just to make sure you are safe and okay. Someone you can always be around and never get sick of.
I happen to believe the world will change only when we change ourselves. And that starts with finding ourselves. And that starts with listening to ourselves: learning to quiet the clamor in our minds and the voices of everyone around us and move toward what feels right- towards the things we know, for reasons we can’t explain, that we’re meant to do, the things that make us feel alive.
i’m scared. i’m scared that i’m not going to be okay. that maybe it’s not going to work out in the end. maybe that’s giving up hope but maybe it’s thinking logically. i’ve had too much time alone to think about this. but it’s like i’ve had this time because i actually give a fuck about people. i have compassion. apparently, i’m the only one. i never got the memo to give up on your best friends.
Apologizing does not always mean that you are wrong

Life isn’t about how many people call you and it’s not about who you’ve dated, are dating, or haven’t dated at all. It’s not about grades, money, clothes, or colleges that accept you or not. Life isn’t about if you have lots of friends, or if you are alone, and it’s not about how accepted or unaccepted you are. Life just isn’t about that. But life is about who you love and who you hurt. It’s about how you feel about yourself. It’s about trust, happiness, and compassion. It’s about sticking up for your friends and replacing inner hate with love. Life is about avoiding jealousy, overcoming ignorance, and building confidence. It’s about what you say and what you mean. It’s about seeing people for who they are and not for what they have. Most of all, it is about living your life to touch someone else’s.
